Biography:

Born, in Dickerson, Montgomery County, Maryland, November 26, 1878.  Attended public schools in Montgomery County.  Received B.A. from Maryland Agricultural College, 1898.  Post-graduate work at Johns Hopkins University.  Excelled academically, receiving a number of scholarships and scholastic honors.  Studied law with uncle, W. Burns Trundle, and attended University of Maryland Law School.  Received LL.B. 1903, and admitted to bar.  Married Jennie R. Bier, January 18, 1953; no children.  Died Baltimore, February 5, 1958, from injuries sustained in a fall.

Elected class president while attending University of Maryland Law School.  Later taught at the Law School.  Practiced law in partnership with Harry M. Nice, 1919 to 1934, when Nice was elected Governor.  Appointed to Supreme Bench of Baltimore City by Governor Nice, 1936.  Served on bench until mandatory retirement at age 70, November 25, 1948.  Returned to private practice at Dickerson, Nice & Sokol.
