Born:  March 6, 1777, at Little Pipe Creek, Frederick County, Maryland (now Carroll County)
Father: David Shriver
Mother: Rebecca Ferree, daughter of Abraham Ferree of Pequea, Pennsylvania
Marriage:  April 22, 1802 to Polly Leatherman (April 4, 1781 - March 6, 1859)
Children:  Rebecca (June 13, 1803 - January 9, 1837), Henry (March 5, 1805 - January 13, 1825), Betsy (June 24, 1807 - October 26, 1807), George (November 16, 1808 - December 11, 1839), Francis, Margaret, Julian (February 11, 1816 - ?), Jesse (February 6, 1818 - July 7, 1870), Anna Maria ( May 24, 1820 - December 9, 1868), Louisa Susan (December 20, 1822 - February 23, 1852)
