Born c. 1804. Son of Richard and Sarah (Rawlings) Goodwin. Married Matilda Phelps, April 1826. Children: William I. R. Goodwin (c. 1826); Stephen Rawlings Goodwin (b. 3/11/1830); Sally Goodwin (c. 1832-6/8/1908); Catharine P. Goodwin Munroe (b. 10/26/1835); Mary Goodwin (c. 1838); Richard Goodwin (c. 1840); Matilda J. Goodwin Price (c. 1841); Harriet T. Goodwin Munroe (b. 4/5/1843); Julia Goodwin Ireland (c. 1847); John T. Goodwin (1849-1902); Annette Goodwin Thompson (d. 3/20/1923). Died March 13, 1873, Annapolis, Maryland.

Trained as a shoemaker. Mayor of Annapolis, 1848-49, 52-53, 65-66. Alderman, Annapolis, dates unknown. Member, Masons.
