John Brice, Jr. (1705-1766)

Biography:

Born November 4, 1705, son of Captain John Brice and Sarah Worthington Brice.  Married Sarah Frisby (1714-1782) on September 9, 1730; children Arianna (b. 1732), Sarah (b. 1735), John (1737-1737), John III (1738-1820), Anne (b. 1744), James (b. 1746), Benedict (b. 1749), Charles (1750-1751), Edmund (b. 1751), Denton (b. 1753), Margaretta Augustina (b. 1755), Elizabeth (b. 1757).  Died September 24, 1766.

Member of the Council of the Province of Maryland.  Chief justice of the Province of Maryland.  Annapolis alderman.  Mayor of Annapolis, 1755-56, 62-63.  Vestryman, St. Anne's Protestant Episcopal Church, Annapolis, 1758-59.  Judge of Assize for the Western Shore; died on the circuit in Charles County.
