Edwin A. Seidewitz (1866-1918)

Biography:

Born in Baltimroe County June 25, 1866.  Son of Frederick W. Seidewitz.  Studied horticulture in Europe.  Married Adele Wattenscheidt April 17, 1890.  Children:  William Ewald Paul (b. June 8, 1891); Edwin Albert Walter, Jr. (b. 21 November 1894); Albert Robert, (b. 1897); Adele.

Seidewitz was a florist on Cathedral street before being elected mayor of Anapolis on on July 10, 1899.  He served as mayor until 1901.  On August 24, 1918, he committed suicide by revolver, Baltimore.
