Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, July 14, 1951.  Attended Wake Forest University, B.A., 1973; Wake Forest University School of Law, J.D., 1975.  Married; two children.

House of Delegates, Charles County, 1991-94.  Member, Environmental Matters Committee, 1992-94; Joint Committee on Administrative, Executive and Legislative Review, 1993-94.  Member, Constitutional and Administrative Law Committee, 1991-92.  Chair, Charles County Delegation, 1994.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Attorney.  State's attorney, Charles County, 1982-86.  Member, County Council for Southern Maryland.  Metropolitan Washington Air Quality Committee.  Director, Charles County Economic Development Commission.  Member, Charles County Democratic Central Committee.  Chair, Charles County Children's Aid Society; Physicians Memorial Hospital Response Committee.  Director, Charles County Crime Solvers, Inc.; Charles County Sexual Assault Center, Inc.; Charles County Bicentennial Committee.  President, Maryland State's Attorneys' Association.  Member and president, Charles County Bar Association.  Member, American Trial Lawyers Association; Maryland State Bar Association; Charles County Chamber of Commerce; Rotary Club of Charles County.  One of the Outstanding Young Men of America, 1981, 1984; one of five Outstanding Young Marylanders, 1982.  Governor's citation for service to Governor's Task Force on Victim Services, 1985.  Chair, 15th Commission District (Charles County), Trial Courts Judicial Nominating Commission, 1996-97.
