Biography:

Born in St. Mary's County, Maryland. Son of Rev. John Stephen, minister of All Faith's Church. Married Juliana J. Brice, November 1, 1808. Resided at "Bostwick" in Blandensburg, Prince George's County. Died on July 26, 1844.

United States Attorney, 1806. House of Delegates, Baltimore City, 1804-1805; Annapolis, 1817-1818. Maryland Senate, Western Shore, 1812-1815, 1821. Member of Governors' Council, 1810-1811, 1819-1820. Judge, Court of Appeals, 1822-1844.
