Biography:

Born Joseph Harold Grady in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, February 27, 1917.  Attended Forest Park High School; Loyola College; University of Maryland School of Law.  Admitted to Maryland bar, November 30, 1942. Catholic.  Married Patricia Grogan (d. 1994) in 1942; four children Joseph H. Grady, Jr.; Thomas L. Grady; Maureen Callahan; Kathleen Ann Donovan.  Died January 9, 2002, in Timonium, Maryland.  Buried at New Cathedral Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland.

Special Agent, F.B.I., 1942-46. Engaged in private law practice, 1946-47. Assistant State's Attorney, Baltimore City, 1947-55. Deputy State's Attorney, Baltimore City, 1955-56. State's Attorney, Baltimore City, 1956-59. Mayor of Baltimore, 1959-62.  Associate Judge, Supreme Bench of Baltimore (later Baltimore City Circuit Court), 1962-80; Chief Judge, 1980-84. Partner, Siskind, Burch, Grady & Rosen, 1984.
