Born in Baltimore, Maryland, December 21, 1943.  Attended Seton High School, Baltimore; University of Maryland, B.A., literature, 1969; University of Maryland School of Law, J.D., 1981.  Admitted to the Maryland Bar, 1982.  Married; two children.
