Born in Schenectady, New York, September 8, 1958.  Attended Paint Branch High School, Silver Spring; Georgetown University, B.S., accounting, 1980.

House of Delegates, Legislative District 17 (D), Montgomery County, 1991-.  Member, Economic Matters Committee, 1991-; Health Insurance Subcommittee, 1994; Workers' Compensation Subcommittee, 1997-.  Member, House Facilities Committee, 1993-; Joint Audit Committee (formerly Joint Budget and Audit Committee), 1995-; Joint Oversight Committee on State Employees Health Insurance, 1994; Special Joint Committee on Competitive Taxation and Economic Development, 1996-97; Bi-county Committee. Chair, Montgomery County delegation, 1995-; vice-chair, 1993-95.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
