Biography:

Attended Baltimore City public schools; Coppin State Teachers College, B.A., 1944; New York University, M.A., 1946; The Johns Hopkins University.  Married; one daughter.  Died February 15, 2011, in Baltimore, Maryland.

General Assembly:
Member of Senate, Legislative District 44 (Baltimore City) 1982-83. Democrat. Sworn in February 26, 1982, to replace John Carroll Byrnes, who was appointed to Circuit Court.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Served in Baltimore City Public School System for 43 years as an elementary school teacher, specialist, supervisor, and principal.  Elected to State of Maryland Central Committee for Northeast Baltimore City; Secretary.  Board of Directors, Morgan Christian Center; Arena Playhouse.  Past President, Morgan Park Community Association.  Appointed 1999 to Maryland Aviation Commission.  President, Baltimore City Retired Teachers Association.  Member, St. James Episcopal Church, Baltimore. Member, Society of Senates Past.
