Born in Aberdeen, Maryland, December 8, 1948.  Attended Washington College, B.A., 1970; The Johns Hopkins University, M.L.A., 1975; University of Maryland School of Law.  Married; two children.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Harford County, 1983-90.  Member, Constitutional and Administrative Law Committee; chair, Procurement Workgroup.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Attorney in general civil practice.  Bel Air High School English and creative writing teacher, 1971-76.  Member, Harford County Council, 1978-82; Maryland Commission for Women, 1977-85.  Member, Harford County Board of Estimates, 1979; Regional Planning Council; National Association of Counties Labor and Employee Benefits Steering Committee, 1979-82.  President, Harford County Child Protection Council, 1981.  President, Maryland Association of Elected Women, 1985.  Delegate, Democratic National Convention, 1988.  Historic Site Survey Committee of the Aberdeen Appearance and Preservation Committee.  Member, Board of Directors of Havre de Grace Decoy Museum.  Member, Harford County Democratic Central Committee; AAUW; NOW; NAACP; LWV; NEA; UMAB.  International Law Society; various Democratic clubs.  Listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, Outstanding Young Women of America.
