Born in Daisytown, Pennsylvania.  Attended Pennsylvania public schools; University of Pittsburgh; Barnard College; New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations; Morgan State College, B.A., 1961; University of Maryland School of Law.

Human rights specialist.  Member, Board of Examiners, State Department of Personnel.  Member, Model Cities Community Council.  Delegate, Democratic National Convention, 1972.  Founder and advisor, Freedom Democratic Club of Baltimore City, Inc.
