Born in Baltimore, Maryland.  Attended Anne Arundel County public schools; University of Maryland, B.A., political science & economics.  Married.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Montgomery County, 1983-86.  Member, Economic Matters Committee; Health Insurance Subcommittee.  Co-chair, Joint Subcommittee to Study the Savings and Loan Industry, 1984.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Congressional and state legislative staff member; legislative representative, Maryland National Organization for Women.  Appointed by Governor Hughes to the Judicial Nominating Commission, Sixth Circuit.  Member, Governor's Task Force on Food and Nutrition. Board member, Alliance for Democratic Reform; Woman's Suburban Democratic Club.  Member, Flower-Piney Branch Local Development Corporation; League of Women Voters, Woodmoor-Pinecrest Citizens Association.  First vice-president, American Association of University Women, Silver Spring. Steering Committee, Coalition for Excellence and Equality in Education.  Chosen one of the Outstanding Young Women of America, 1979.
