Susan Orrick Sulivane Grason (1796-1861)

First Lady of Maryland 1839-1842


Susan Orrick Sulivane was born on April 8, 1796, daughter of Dr. James Bennett Sulivane of Cambridge.  For the first several years of their marriage they lived in Dorchester County near her parents.  About 1816 they moved to Queen Anne's County, making a home near Queenstown.1  They had eleven children. Susan died on July 29, 1861.
