Biography:

Born in Chicago, Illinois, February 28, 1937.  Attended Chicago public schools; Wheaton College, A.B., 1957; The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, M.D., 1961.  Married to Donna Marx; two sons.  Died April 20, 2014, in Annapolis, Maryland.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Baltimore City, 1971-83.  Member, Environmental Matters Committee; Chair, 1979-83.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Physician.  Served with the U.S. Public Health Service, 1963-65.  Secretary of  Natural Resources, 1983-95.  Chair, Power Plant Research Advisory Committee, Department of Natural Resources.  Member, Governor's Construction Industry Employers' Advisory Council; Chesapeake Bay Trust.   Member, Alpha Omega Alpha; The Johns Hopkins Medical Society; American Heart Association; Southern Salt, Water and Kidney Club; American Federation for Clinical Research; American Society of Nephrology; American Board of Internal Medicine.  Fellow of the American College of Physicians.  Contributor to many medical journals.
