Biography:

Born in San Antonio, Texas, December 27, 1910.  Attended public schools in San Antonio and Washington, D.C.; Dunbar High School; Howard University and Howard University Medical School, M.D., 1944.  Married Faye E. Watson in 1947; two children were Aris Tee Allen, Jr., Lonnie W. Allen.  Resided in Arundel on the Bay, Annapolis.  Died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being ill with cancer in Annapolis, February 8, 1991.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Anne Arundel County, 1967-74; 1990-91.  Minority whip, 1967-74.  Member, Constitutional and Administrative Law Committee, 1967-74.  Maryland Senate, District 30, 1979-81.  Member, Senate Finance Committee, 1979-81.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Pilot in Army Specialized Training Program, 1942; Air Force flight surgeon, 1953-55.  Medical resident at Freedman's Hospital, Washington, D.C., 1944-45.  Physician in private practice, Annapolis.  Maryland Medical Association award for outstanding achievements in medicine and civic affairs, 1967. Chair, Maryland state Republican Party.  Chair of the Maryland delegates to the Republican National Convention, 1972.  NAACP county conference award, 1976.  Frontiers International Humanitarian Award, 1977.  Chair, Republican State Central Committee, 1977-79.  Rotary International Paul Harris Fellowship, 1978.  Candidate for lieutenant governor of Maryland, 1978.  Convention secretary, Republican National Convention, 1980.  Medical affairs advisor to the Health Care Financing Administration, 1981-89.  First African American to be appointed to the Anne Arundel County Board of Education.  Member of the board, Anne Arundel Community College; YMCA; Community Chest of Anne Arundel County; Red Cross; Annapolis Chamber of Commerce, Annapolis chapter of the American Cancer Society.  Vice chair, board of regents, Morgan State University.  President, medical staff of Anne Arundel Medical Center.  Member of the Board of Medical Examiners of Maryland.  Director of the Health Standards and Quality Board of the Health Care Financing Administration.  Board, Maryland Academy of Family Physicians.  Real Estate broker; worked for O'Conor, Piper and Flynn's commercial industrial division.  Life member, NAACP.  Board of stewards, Mount Moriah A.
