Public Service:  Paymaster General of the State Militia 1866-1870; Delegate, House of Delgates for Baltimore County, 1882 (Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, Member of the Park Board); State Treasurer 1885-1886

Estate:  Owned Ashburton in Baltimore

Died:  January 23, 1926, of pneumonia at his home in the Burford Apartments, 3209 North Charles Street

Burial:  Greenmount Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland
