(299) October In the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and forty Eight and often since at Charles County afs.d to pay the same but that unto him hither to to Pay or Content the said James and Richard hath hither to altogether Refused and Still doth Refuse to pay the same to the Damage of him the said William Thirty Three pounds Seven shillings & four Pence Virginia Currency of the Value of Sixty Six Pounds fourteen shillings and Eight Pence Maryland Currency and therefore suit is brought and so forth John Doe Pled.s &C.a & Rich.d Roe And the aforesaid James and Richard in their Proper Person Comes and defends the force and Injury when &C.a and saith that he Cannot deny the Action afs.d of him the said W.m nor but that he did assume upon himself in manner and form as the said William against them hath Complained nor also but that the said William hath sustained Damages by means of not Performing the Promises and Assumptions afs.d to Sixteen Pounds Thirteen Shillings & Eight Pence Virginia Currency of the Value of Thirty Three Pounds Seven Shillings and four Pence Maryland Currency as the said William above in declaring Supposes Whereupon the said William by his attorney afs.d Prays Judgment and those Damages so Acknowledged together with his Costs & Charges by him about his Suit in this Part laid out & Expended to him to be adjudged Therefore it is Considered by the Court here that the said William Skyrin do Recover against the said James and Richard his Damages afs.d to Sixteen Pounds Thirteen shillings and Eight Pence Virginia Currency of the Value of Thirty Three pounds seven shillings and four Pence Maryland above acknowledged as also the sum of Two Hun.d fifty six Pounds and an half pound of Tobacco for his Costs and Charges by him about his suit in this Part laid out and Expended on his assent by the Court here adjudged and the said James & Richard Def.t in Mea in Mercy &Ca
Charles County ss.t Moses Drape late of Charles County Mariner was Attached to Answer unto Jeremiah Aderton of a plea of Trespass upon the Case and so forth And Whereupon the same Jeremiah Aderton by Jeremiah Chase his Attorney Complains that whereas the said moses the Day of In the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and forty Eight at Charles County afs.d was Indebted to the said Jeremiah Aderton In the sum of Eighteen Pounds Virginia Currency of the Value of Twenty Eight Pounds Sixteen shillings Maryland Currency for divers articles lying properly in an account as by the Particular Account thereof herewith into Court brought may appear & being so thereof Indebted the afs.d Moses Drape in Consideration thereof afterwards to wit the day and year afs.d at the County afs.d upon himself assumed and to the said Jeremiah then & there faithfully Promised that he the afs.d Moses Drape the afs.d Sum of Eighteen Pounds Virginia Curr.y of the Value of Twenty Eight Pounds Sixteen Shillings Maryland Currency to the said Jeremiah (Aderton) |
