Directions of the Act of Assembly in those Cases late made and Provided lodged with the Clerk of the Court here the following Account & Warrant for Attachment Vizt
made Oath on the holy Evangelists that the above Account is Just and True as it stands stated and that he has not Received any part or Parcel thereof or any Security or Satisfaction more then Credit is Given for to the best of his Knowledge Sworn Before W.m Eilbeck Charles County ss Whereas it appears to me William Eilbeck one of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for Charles County by the testimony of one Creditable Witness & probable Circumstances that Thomas Davis Jun.r late of the afs.d County is Actually Runaway or Remov'd in a secrett manner from the place of his abode and has Carried or about to Carry and Remove away his Substance and Also it appears to me the s.d Justice as afs.d that the said Thomas Davis is Realy and bonafida Indebted unto Mr Dan Stephenson Merch.t in Whitehaven the sum of Two pounds Three Shillings and Six pence half penny Currency These are therefore to will and Require you forthwith on Sight hereof to Issue Attachment against the Goods Chattles & Credits of the said Thomas Davis for as well the Debt of Two Pounds three shillings and six pence half penny so provided as afs.d as for the Incident Costs & Charges in prosecuting the same Attachment and for your so doing this shall be your sufficient & Authority Given under my hand this 26.th Day of February 1746/7 W.m Eilbeck To M.r Edmund Porteus Clerk of Charles County |
