(303) Path to a Dividing line between said Sisson and Joseph Hanson Harrison then and with the said division line to the Road which leads from the head of Burditts Creek to Nanjemy Church Given under my hand this 5.th March 1747 JHarrison Richard Edelen Returns to the Court here the following Petition & order thereon To the Worshipfull the Justices of Charles County the Petition of Richard Edelen Humbly sheweth that The Road leading from Benedict Town to Newport as it now stands is very pernicious to your Petitioner and your Pet.r Humbly Conceives that where it goes through his Plantation it may be to the advantage of your Petitioner and no ways set convenient to the publick your Petitioner therefore Humbly prays your Worships that the Road afs.d may be turned accordingly and that your Petitioner shall ever pray Charles County ss.t November Court 1747 Sedente Curian Ordered that M.r John Winter Mr Peter Wood & Mr James Nevison View the Premises and make a Report to the Next Court In obedience to your Commands we have viewed the within mentioned Road and find it can be no prejudice to the publick to have it turned as it is not above forty yards from the old Road at any place To the Worshipfull Court James Nivison of Charles County Peter Wood Be it Remembered that pursuant to an order of Court Holden at Charles Town on the second Tuesday in November Last Commission Issued Returnable here &C.a to Examine Evidences touching the bounds of a parcel of Land Called Goats Lodge lying in said County in the Possession of Sarah Hawkins in the Words following Vizt Charles County ss.t Charles Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltimore &C.a To John Hanson Junior Thomas Morriss Francis Ware and James [illegible] Gentlemen Whereas Sarah Hawkins is seized of a Tract or Parcel of Land called Goats Lodge lying in the said County did on the Tenth day of November being in the Thirty Third year of a Dominion &C Prefer her Certain Petition in Writing to our Court that is to say to our County Court held at Charles Town in and for the said County on the day aforesaid before Robert Hanson Gent and his associates there are still our Justices with in our County aforesaid &C.a for Commission to Examine Evidences to prove and perpetuate the Memory of the bounds of the said Tract of Land according to the directions of the act of assembly late made and Provided Know Ye that we have given you any three or Two of them you (not being anyway Released to the Petitioner Contiguous Proprietor nor Intenoted in the said Land and having taken the path prescribed by the above Named act of assembly) full Power and authority to Examine upon their Corporal oaths to be by you any Three or Two of you administred all Witnesses which shall be Nominated to you any Three or Two of you by the above (Named) |
