285 y.t Information af.d to any person or persons whatsoever Thereupon George Mckean of Somerset County planter present herein Court undertook for the said Patience Bowles to pay all Fee or Fees due to any person or persons Whatsoever on the Information af.d in Case the said Patience Bowles doth not pay the same &c
County af.d to witt at dividing Creek in the same County the fifteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty two before Robert King Esq.r and his Associates the said Lord propry his Justices of the same County Court and for the same Lord proprietary doth give the Court hereto understand and be Informed that Edmond Knowles Jun.r late of Stepney parish in the said County of Somerset planter the tenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty one at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Commit fornication with a Certain Patience Bowles and of her body then and there had Carnall knowledge and a bastard Child on the body of her the same Patience then and there did beget to the high displeasure of Allmighty God to the Evill Example of all others in such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the same Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in such Case lately made and provided &c Whereupon the same Attorney of the said Lord propry for the same Lord propry prays advice of the Court herein the premisses and that due process of Law in this part against the same Edmond Knowles Junr may be made to answer unto the same Lord propry of and upon the premisses &a Thereupon it is Commanded the sheriffe of Somerset County that he should take the said Edmond Knowles J.r of &.c to answer &.c And now to witt at that same Court held for the County af.d at dividing Creek this fifteenth day of June Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty two before the af.d Justices Came the af.d Edmond Knowles Junr in his proper person According to a Certain recognizance by him and his Security in this part first Acknowledged and had a hearing of the Information af.d and saith that he Cannot deny but that he is guilty of the premisses af.d in the Information af.d specified above upon him Imposed in manner and form as by the Information af.d above against him supposed and the premisses af.d Expressly acknowledged &c Whereupon all and singular the premisses being seen and by the Court here fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the af.d Edmond Knowles Junr pay unto his Lordship the Lord |
