19 Cases offending contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the act of assembly in such Case lately made and provided &a Test James Dashiell Jun.r On the backside of the foregoing bill of Indictment it was thus Endorsed as followeth vizt Bill p Joshua Caldwell foreman Thereupon Command was given to the sheriff of Somerset County that he should take the aforesaid Winifred Abden if she should be found in his bailywick if &a to answer &a And afterwards to witt the seventeenth day of June anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred thirty five before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held at dividing Creek in the Same County came the said Winifred Abden in her proper person according to a Certain Recognizance by her and her security in that part first acknowledged and had a hearing of the Indictment aforesaid and being Instantly demanded how she would acquitt herselfe of the premisses aforesaid above by the Indictment upon her Imposed says that of the premisses aforesaid above upon her Imposed she is Guilty thereof and is willing to pay her fine for the fact aforesaid Whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had It is thereupon Considered by the Justices here that the aforesaid Winifred Abden pay unto his Lordship the Right honrble the Lord propry for her fine by the Court hereupon her Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid whereof in form aforesaid she is Convict thirty shillings Currant money for the Use of the County aforesaid and that the said Winifred Abden be taken to satisfie his said Lordship of the for her fine afd &a Whereupon the said Winifred Abden is ordered to give security for the payment of the Severall Officers Fees due by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid upon said Indictment aforesaid thereupon a Certain George Bowns of Somerset County Bricklayer present herein Court in his proper person acknowledged himselfe Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord prory in the Sum of five pounds Sterling of his body goods or Chattells Lands or tenements to be made and Levied to the Use of the Officers of Somerset County Gent that hath any right to any fees upon the Indictment aforesaid &a If it happen that the said George Bowns do not pay and Satisfie unto the Several Officers their Fees due by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid upon the Indictment aforesaid &a
unto his Lordship of and Concerning a Certain Information against him Exhibited for Excessive Usury &a thereupon the said John White present here in Court in his proper person acknowledged himselfe Indebted |
