190 body of her the same Eliz.a to the high displeasure of almighty God to the Evill Example of all others in such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the said Lord Proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the act of assembly in such Case made and provided &a Test Thomas Walker On the Backside of the Foregoing Bill of Indictment it was thus Endorsed viz.t Billa vera Edmond Hough foreman Thereupon Command was given to the sher of Somerset County that he Should take the said Eliz.a Hickman if &.a to answer &.a and afterwards to witt Fifteenth day of June anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty six before the Justices of His Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held at dividing Creek in and for the Same County Came the said Eliz.a Hickman in her proper person and had a hearing of the Indictment afd and being Instantly demanded how she would acquitt her selfe of the premisses afd as by the Indictment afd is above upon her Imposed saith that of the premisses afd by the Indictment above upon her Imposed she is guilty thereof and is willing to pay her fine for the fact afd & makes oath that a Certain John Camron is the father & Begetter of the Child she stands Indicted for Whereupon all and singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and fully understood It is thereupon Considered by the Court here that the Said Eliz.a Hickman pay unto his Lordship the Right honrble the Lord propry for her fine by the Court hereupon her Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses afd whereof in form afd she is Convict thirty shillings Currt money of maryland for the use of the County afd and that the said Eliz.a Hickman be taken to Satisfie his said Lordship of the fine afd whereupon the said Eliza Hickman is order to give Security for the Severall Officers Fees due by Occasion of the premisses afd thereupon a Certain William Stoughton of Somerset County Gent present herein Court undertook for the said Eliz.a Hickman for to pay the Severall Officers Fees due as afd upon the Indictmt afd &a
unknown and did permit the same unknown person then and there to have carnal knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a bastard Child on the body of her the same sarah to the high displeasure of almighty God to the evil example of all others in such case offending Contrary to the peace of the said lord proprietary that now is his Good rule and Goverment and against the form of the act of assembly in such cas made and provided &.c Test William Moore On the Backside of the foregoing Bill of Indictment it was Endorsed as Followeth vizt Billa Vera Edmond Hough Foreman thereupon Command was given to the sheriff of |
