154 a Certain John Gouldsmith in the peace of God and the aforesaid Lord proprietary then and there being an assault made and him the Said John Gouldsmith and there beat wounded and Evill intreated so that of his Life it was Greatly despaired and Other enormitys to him then and there Offered to the Grievous damage of him the said John and against the peace of the Right honrble the Lord proprietary &c L Gale P Dom Pry Test Joseph Harding & John Floyd On the back side of the foregoing bill of Indictment it was thus endorsed viz.t Ignoramus Edward Rownd Foreman whereupon this twenty first day of March One thousand Seven hundred and thirty One in Court now held at dividing Creek for the County afd before the Justices of the Same Court cometh the aforesaid William Horsey according to a Certain Recognizance by him and his pledges in that part before Confessed in his proper person and prays that his appearance may be recorded and he and his Securitys discharged thereupon the said William Horseys appearance is Recorded and he and his Securitys discharged whereupon it is ordered by the Court here that the Said William Horsey Give Security for the payment of the Severall Officers their fees due by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid thereupon a Certain Nathaniel Horsey of Somerset County planter present here in Court undertakes for the Said William Horsey for to pay the Severall Officers fees due as afd &c
to discharge him from paying of taxes for the aforesaid negro for the future and your petitioner as in duty bound shall ever pray The petition aforesaid being read and heard and fully understood wherefore it is Considered that the aforesaid Thomas Brown be discharged for the future from paying of taxes for the aforesaid negro for the future as by the petition aforesaid is praid &c John Floyd appears according to his Recognizance and is discharged therefrom he being bound to Give Evidence against W.m Horsey &c Joseph Hardin being bound by Recognizance to Give Evidence against William Horsey appears and is discharged &c
aforesaid one pair of Cotten and Linnen Sheets of the Value of three hundred and pounds of tobacco and two pillow Cases of Cotten and Linnen of the Value of Sixty pounds of tobacco of the Goods and Chattells of a Certain William Wye Jun.r then and there found then and there feloniously Stole took and Carried away against the peace of the Right honrble |
