132 Att a Court of the Right honrable Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the provinces of maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &.c held at dividing Creek in somersett County by his said Lordships Commissioners and Justices of the Peace the third tuesday of Novem being the ninteenth day of the same month and in the thirteenth Year of his said Lordships dominion ann.o Dom 1728 Present
Proclamation being made in Common form the Sherr of Somersett County to witt John Purnall Gentleman makes Return of a pannell of Grand Jurors as followeth viz.t
Impannelled being severally Called Over by their Names do appear as above and thereupon they are sworn and Charged and sent Out to Consider &.c soon after the grand Jurors afd being Impannelled sworne and Charged as afd Return into Court and Severally called over appear and being asked if they had agreed to any Presentments or made any bills of Indictm.ts Returned the following Presentments against Sarah Staples and Mary Patrick thereupon the grand Jurors are discharged and ordered that they be allowed the Sum of five hundred pounds of tobacco for their publick service this Court and against the afd Sarah Staples and Mary Patrick so as afd Presented It is ordered that Capias Issue Returnable to Next Court &c Bowson a negro boy of Richard Knight is adjudged by the Court to be of the age of seven years &a Tom a negro boy of John Harris is adjudged by the Court to be of the age of Nine Years &c Henry Ayres son of Henry Ayres decd an orphan being arrived at full age for the Choseing of his Gardian Came into Court and prays that he may have the Liberty of Chosing a Certain Nathaniel Hopkins Jun.r as his Gardian which is Granted &c and Ordered by the Court that the Said Nathaniel Hopkins take all the Estate of the Said Henry Ayres into his Care and Possession and Likewise that he give good Security in the Sum of fifty pounds Ster to Comply with the Law in relation to Gardians &c Whereupon the said Nathaniel Hopkins with a Certain Johnson Hill both of the County afd Planters hath present herein Court acknowledged themselves to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto the Said Henry Ayres in the Sum of fifty pounds Sterling to be Levied upon their Goods and Chattells Lands and tenements Joyntly and Severally for the Use of the said Henry Ayres if default be made in the Condition hereunder written The ^Condition^ of the above Recognizance is Such that if the above bound |
