notable mark or scar that I have observed.  In Testimony whereof I

    State of Maryland Caroline County to wit; Whereas application hath been
made to me by a coloured woman named Eliza Jackson for a certificate of
her freedom agreeably to the Act of assembly in such case made and provided
by which said Act free negroes and molattoes are permitted to travel out
of this state upon the Obtention of a Certificate of being free born
    And whereas also upon the Testimony of William Hopkins of Caroline
County that the said coloured woman named Eliza Jackson for whom
this Certificate is made was free born.  I do therefore grant her said
application and hereby certify that she is five feet three and a half
inches high or thereabouts says she will be twenty three years of age
in June next of a dark molatto complexion was born and raised
in Caroline County & has no notable mark or scar that I have discovered
In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name & affix
           the public seal of my office this 11th day of November

State of Maryland Caroline county to wit;  Whereas heretofore to wit;  On the
Fifteenth day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and
twenty a certain Charles Hubbard of Caroline County by Deed of manumission
duly executed acknowledged and recorded among the Land records of Caroline
County did manumit and set free a certain molatto woman named Cenith
to be free and at perfect liberty from and after the date of the said manumission
and the said negro woman named Cenith having made application to me
for a certificate of her freedom agreeably to the act of assembly in such case
made and provided:  And whereas also upon the Oath of Rebecca Hubbard
of Caroline County that the said negro woman named Cenith is the same
negro woman mentioned in the said manumission
