August Court 1719 321 Saith that he knows not of any Commerce or dealing by the Said Sarah Jewers with the Said Negro Tom but afterwards declares that he hath Seen the Said Negro eat at the Said Sarah Jewers house and that he hath Carryed Wheat and Corne for the Said Sarah Jewers to the Mill and that he hath fetch’t the Same againe from the Mill. Its demand: :ed whether only wheat was carryd there or that was left there for her use by other persons to the best of his knowledge^ifhe ever brought more from the Mill then he Carryd he answrs he Cannot tell Saying that he did not measure the Same when it came home And Saith that he hath brought Corne and wheat from the Mill as was left there by other delivered Syder for the Same and being asked how^heknew of Corn & wheat to be left that two prsons told him of it here at last Court that they told him they would Swear it Demanded that when Jane Aires lived with Mrs: Jewers if he knew any thing of part of a loaf bread that was brought there form Negro Tom to Sd Jewers Answers he knows nothing of it Demanded if knows any thing of Sydr was delivered the Negro Tom doth not Rember any thing about it Demanded if knows any thing about the Negro being at Mrs. Jewers when Wm Trulock and Lappage was there Answers that he doth Rember about the time the Mill Dam the Negro demanded a forfeiture[?] for going over the Dam was finished he being down at the Mill and going Down to the dam^ told them if they would go up to Mrs Jewerses and he could gett it he would give them Some Syder and he came to the house he did gitt Some Syder of her and gave it them after Some time that they had ye Syder to drink the Said William Trulock and Lappage came into the house Saith he did bid one of the boys go away Demanded if Negro Tom ever delivered him any corne or wheat Saith that he hath had Corn and wheat Meale of the Said Negro Tom for the Said Sarah Jewers use
