hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fifteenth day of
april in the year Eighteen hundred and forty four
Signed Sealed and delivered
in presence of   Wm Glover         Amelia Pinkney   (seal)
          Edward Sparks

       At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit
Anne Arundel County to wit  Be it remembered That
on this fifteenth day of April in the year eighteen hundred
and forty four personally appears Amelia Pinkney a party
to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber
a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland in and for said
county and acknowledges the within instrument of writing
to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned
and the negro man within named to be henceforth manumitted
and discharged from all services to her or to any claiming under
her and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly
in such cases made and provided and I Certify that the said
Amelia Pinkney is known by me to be same and Identical
with the person named as and professing to be the party
grantor in the foregoing instrument of writing and that she
signed sealed and executed the same in my presence
Chd      Acknowledged before and Certified by Wm Glover

       To all whom it may Concern  Be it known that I
William Brewer of the City of annapolis in the State of
maryland for divers causes and Considerations me
thereunto moving as also in further Considerations of five
dollars Current money to me in hand paid have released
from slavery liberated manumitted and set free from and
after the date of these presents and by these presents do
release from Slavery liberate manumit and set free from
and after the date of these presents my negro woman
named Clare calling herself Clare Harwood being of the
age of forty years and able to work and gain a
livelyhood and her the said Negro woman named
Clare calling herself Clare Harwood I do declare to be free
