381 This Indenture made this seventeenth day of August eighteen hundred and twenty seven between Elizabeth Hammond of Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland of the one part and Easter Barrett of the County and State aforesaid of the other parte Witnesseth that the said Elizabeth Hammond as well as for the sum of five dollars current money to me in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents and also for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I the said Elizabeth Hammond hath and beareth unto the said Easter Barrett as also for the better maintenance and supporte livelihood and preferment of her the said Easter Barrett hath give and granted unto the said Easter Barrett her Son Nicholas Barrett aged about seven years old to serve her the said Easter Barrett untill he shall arive to the years of one and twenty and then to be free forever and I the said Elizabeth Hammond do bind myself my executors administrators and assigns forever to defend these presents In testimony whereas I have hereunto affixed my seal this date and year first above writing Signed in the presents of George W Hammond Elizabeth Hammond (Seal) A Sappington At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit State of Maryland A A County sct On this 17th day of August 1827 before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for said county appears Elizabeth Hammond and acknowledges the foregoing instrument of writing to be her act and deed according to the true intent and meaning therein and the acts of assembly in such case made and provided Ex.d d.d A Sappington paid 2¾ Recorded the 1st day of September 1827 |
