21 year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and seventeen Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Thomas Sellman Jn.o Brice (seal) James Iglehart Jun.r At the foot and annexed to the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Anne Arundel County to wit: On the twenty second day of January Eighteen hundred and seventeen came John Brice before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the aforegoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed agreeably to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged before Thomas Sellman Know all men by these presents that I John Brice of the City of annapolis for and in consideration of the sum of fifty one pounds current money to me in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents by Joseph Selby of ann arundel County the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Joseph Selby his heirs Executors administrators and assigns One Negro woman named Kate for the term of five years from the ninth day of this Instant and after the expiration of said time to go free also negro Tom aged six years and four months untill they shall arrive to the age of thirty years and after the expiration of said term to go free.
