181 I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fifteenth day of February Eighteen hundred and twenty one Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Alfred Sellman Th: Joice (seal) James Iglehart J.r At the foot of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: On the fifteenth day of February Eighteen hundred and twenty one personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for anne arundel County Thomas Joice party to the above instrument of writing who acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and the signature and seal thereto annexed to be respectively his Exd Gideon White 2¼ Recorded the 15th day of February 1821 To all whom it may concern Be it known That I Julia Ann Dorsey of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes & considerations me thereunto moving do from and after the term to each affix'd hereby release from slavery manumit and set free my three negro men to wit: Dick aged thirty nine years to be free on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and twenty five, Ephraim aged thirty years to be free on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and twenty nine, Dennis aged nineteen years to be free on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and twenty nine which said three negroes from and after the term to each affix'd by these presents I do hereby release from slavery manumit and set (free) |
