The State of Maryland Anne Arundel
County to Wit I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that on an Examination of the Records and papers in the Office of the Register of Wills for Anne Arundel County it appears that the last Will and Testament of Rezin Hammond late of the County aforesaid, deceased, bearing date the tenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Eight was proved and Recorded in the said office on the Eighteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and nine in Liber J. G. N.o 2 folio 469 and that the said Rezin Hammond by his said Will among other things ^did^ devise and direct that all the rest and remainder of his Slaves (not previously disposed of by his said Will) together with their increase should be Liberated manumitted and set free as they should respectively arrive to the age of thirty years And I do further Certify that it hath been proved by such Testimony as is satisfactory to me that the Bearer hereof negro Jacob whose height is about five feet nine Inches; whose age is about Thirty two years; whose complexion is Dark; and who as appears by the said Will and Testimony became free on the twenty ninth day of September in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty Eight is the Identical person who was manumitted or freed as aforesaid and that the said negro Jacob was raised in Anne Arundel County In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of my office this 20.th day of April in the year of (Seal) our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty one Thomas T. Simmons Reg.r Wills A. A.
