504 and State of Maryland of the one part and Oliver Miller of the same place of the other part. Whereas the said Wingate owes and stands justly indebted unto the said Miller in the full and just sum of twenty five dollars and to secure the payment thereof is willing to execute these presents. Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said James Wingate for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar current money to him in hand paid by the said Miller at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Oliver Miller his executors administrators and assigns the following personal property namely one wardrobe one cherry writing desk one settee and cushions two chairs and two venetian blinds. Now in the possession and being the property of the said Wingate. To have and to hold the same unto the said Oliver Miller his executors administrators and assigns forever. Provided always and these presents are upon this condition that if the said James Wingate his executors administrators shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Oliver Miller his executors administrators or assigns the full sum of twenty five dollars with legal interest thereon on or before the expiration of six months next ensuing the date of these presents then and in such case these presents and every matter and thing herein contained shall cease and be utterly void anything herein contained to the contrary thereof in any wise notwithstanding. In witness whereof the said James Wingate hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first herein before written. Signed sealed and delivered in presence of James Wingate (seal) John W. Iglehart At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit On the twenty seventh day of October eighteen hundred and fifty one before the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the county aforesaid personally appeared James Wingate the party grantor in the aforegoing instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed. And I do hereby certify that the said James Wingate the person making this acknowledgement is personally known to me to be the person described as and professing to be the party grantor in the aforegoing deed or instrument of writing and at the time of taking the above acknowledgement also appeared the said Oliver Miller the grantee in said bill of sale or mortgage and made oath that the consideration therein set forth is true and bona fide as therein stated Acknowledged before and certified by John W. Iglehart Recorded October 27th 1851 Costs 75 cents |
