in the State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said John H Hopkins his Executors administrators and assigns One negro man Ceasar Wallace slave for Life aged about thirty five or forty Years To Have and To Hold the Said described negro man Ceasar Wallace to the said John H Hopkins his executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Floyd Chaney for myself my heirs executors and administrators the said negro man Ceasar Wallace unto the said John H Hopkins his executors administrators and assigns against me the said Floyd Chaney executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these In Witness whereof ^I have^ hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty third day of May Eighteen hundred and fifty signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Floyd Chaney (seal) H R Robbins State of Maryland baltimore City Ss Be it remembered that on this twenty third day of May 1850 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said City appears Floyd Chaney party grantor named in the above Bill of Sale and acknowledges the above Instrument of Writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged Before H R Robbins State of Maryland baltimore County Sct I Hereby Certify that Henry R Robbins Esquire before whom the Annexed Acknowledgment was made and who has thereto subscribed his name was at the time of so doing A Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for the City of Baltimore duly commissioned and sworn In Testimony Whereof I hereto set my hand and affix the seal of (Seals) Baltimore County Court this twenty third day of (place) May A.
