doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said John T. Hammond his executors
administrators or assigns the following property hereinafter mentioned
to wit, four mahogany tables, one old side board one dozn chairs one
clock two looking glasses one brass fender & andirons one old english
carpet one old domestick carpet one feather bed bedstid & bedding
and all the other household and kitchen furniture of her the said
Ruth Hammond.   To Have and to Hold the above described property
to him the said John T. Hammond his executors administrators and
assigns; and the said Ruth Hammond for herself her executors administrators
or assigns doth warrant and defend the above described property
against all claims whatsoever of her the said Ruth Hammond
and against all persons claiming under her and the above described property
and every part and parcel thereof to be the right and estate of the said John
T. Hammond upon this proviso nevertheless that if the said Ruth Hammond
shall well and truly pay and satisfy the said John T. Hammond the said
sum of ninety five dollars with the interest that may accrew thereon
on or before the first day of January in the year eighteen hundred
and fifty five then and in that case the above recited premises to be
void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in law.    In Testimony
whereof the said Ruth Hammond hath hereunto set her hand
and affixed her seal the day and year first above written

       On this eight day of August eighteen hundred and forty eight
personally appeared Ruth Hammond before us the subscriber two
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County and acknowledged
the aforegoing instrument to be her act and deed for the purposes
therein mentioned and we do further certify that the said Ruth
Hammond is the identical person signing the within instrument
of writing   Taken and certified the day and year first above written
