161 to me to be the person who is named and described as and professing to be a party to the foregoing deed and doth acknowledge the said deed or instrument of writing to be his act and deed. note to be paid by Jeremiah Tittle of Baltimore County & State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Jeremiah Tittle his executors administrators and assigns one negro man named Kitt aged about thirty five years to be free first day of January eighteen hundred and fifty three (1853) one negro Boy named William aged about two years to be free at thirty five years of age (35) and one negro Girl named Patience about five years of age to be free first day of May eighteen hundred and seventy four (1874) of the property of Charles Waters late of the City of Baltimore decd as slaves to serve until the respective times mentioned above and thereafter to be free and discharged from all servitude agreeably to the form and effect of the last will and testament of the said dec.d The said negroes being sold and conveyed by me as Executor and in virtue of the power and authority vested in me by said last will & testament. To Have and To Hold the said described negroes to wit Kitt William and Patience for the terms of years above mentioned ^but no longer^ to the said Jeremiah Tittle his Executors administrators and assigns as aforesaid. In Witness we have hereunto set our hands and seals this sixth day of January eighteen hundred and forty seven F. G Waters Exr (seal) Signed sealed and delivered of Chas Waters decds in the presence of Joshua Stewart Jeremiah Tittle (seal) At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Ss Be it remembered that on this sixth day of January 1847 before the Subscriber a justice of the peace for said County appears F. G Waters Exr as as aforesaid and Jeremiah Tittle and acknowledges the above Instrument of writing to be their act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before Recorded the 22.nd day of January 1847 Joshua Stewart costs 2½ |
