144 of Assembly in such case made and provided and I do hereby further certify that the said John Lane is personally known to me to be the same identical person professing to have signed & sealed the same Witness my hand Recorded the 27th day of Nov.b 1846 Jos Nicholson
State of Maryland of the one part and John Johnson of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars current money by the said John Johnson to the said George Johnson in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which he doth hereby acknowledge the said George Johnson hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said John Johnson the following property. That is to say one negro man named Dick Turner one negro Girl named Sally Davis one promissory note for four hundred dollars signed James Iglehart four shares of Stock of the Farmers Bank of Maryland To Have and To Hold the above described property to and for the sole and seperate use of Henrietta E. Johnson wife of the said George Johnson her executors administrators and assigns free clear and discharged from all claim and demand right authority or controul of the said George Johnson his Executors administrators or assigns and in the full power to the said Henrietta E. Johnson her executors administrators or assigns to take and receive the rents and profits thereof and to dispose of said property by last will and testament or otherwise as if she were a feme sole. In Witness whereof the said George Johnson hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year aforesaid George Johnson (seal) At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered that on this fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six personally appeared before me the Subscriber a justice of the peace in and for Anne Arundel County George Johnson he being known to me to be the party grantor in the above instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and Deed In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and & deld |
