in and for the City of Baltimore duly Commissioned and sworn
                            In Testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and affix the seal of Baltimore
    (Seal)               County Court this fifth day of October 1841

    Know all Men by these presents that I Mary Hunter of Anne Arundel County in the
State of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars Current money
to me in hand paid by John Miller of the said County and State at and before the sealing
and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Mary Hunter do hereby acknowledged
have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell
unto the said John Miller his executors administrators and assigns the following
Negroes hereinafter particularly mentioned that is to say one negro girl named Henny
aged about thirteen years and one negro Girl named Rosetta aged about ten years
To have and To Hold the said Negroes above bargained and sold or mentioned
and intended so to be to the said John Miller his Executors and administrators
the said Negroes unto the said John Miller his Executors administrators and assigns
against me the said Mary Hunter my Executors and administrators and against
all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and
forever defend by these presents  In Witness whereof I the said Mary Hunter have
hereunto set my hand and seal this      day of October Eighteen hundred and forty one

                At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sct  Be it remembered and it is hereby
Certified that on this thirteenth day of October in the year Eighteen hundred and forty
One before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland in and for
said County personally appears Mary Hunter he being known to me to be the person
who is named and described as and professing to be a party to the foregoing
instrument of writing and doth acknowledge the same to be her act and deed
In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid

of the Estate of Vachel Kirby Late of Anne Arundel County and state of maryland
