113 and assigns for ever and I the said Dennis Boyd for myself my heirs Executors and administrators all and singular the said Goods chattels and personal property and other the premises unto the said James Iglehart his Executors administrators and assigns against me the said Dennis Boyd my Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents of all and singular which said goods chattels and personal property and other the premises I the said Dennis Boyd have put the said James Iglehart in full possession by delivering to him the said James Iglehart one knife at the sealing and delivering of these presents in the name of the whole premises hereby bargained and sold or mentioned and included to be so unto him the said James Iglehart as aforesaid In Witness whereof the said Dennis Doyd hath hereto set his hand and seal this 30th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty one Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Dennis Boyd (seal) J W Hunter On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Court On this 30th day of January Eighteen hundred and forty one before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the County and State aforesaid personally appeared Dennis Boyd and acknowledged the aforegoing Instrument of writing to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and I certify that I am satisfied for my own knowledge that the said Dennis Boyd who executed and acknowledged the said Instrument of writing before me is the Identical person named therein and professing to Execute the same Acknowledged before and Certified by chd J W Hunter 62½ 5 Recorded the 2nd day of February 1841 Know all Men by these presents that I Enoch Shekell of Anne Arundel County & State State of maryland in consideration that Samuel Thomas and William C Hopkins of the same County and State are two of my securities on a note of hand given to Richard Estep and Henry A Hall for the sum of five hundred and seven dollars bearing interest from the 15 day of april 1837 and also in Consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said Samuel Thomas & William C Hopkins the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Samuel Thomas and William C Hopkins one negro boy named John about Seventeen years of age a slave for life two yoke of oxen one ox cart one bay mare one bay horse one bay colt & one Roan Colt which said Slave and the other property is now in my possession To have and to (hold) |
