85 State of maryland Howard county ss Be it remembered that on this thirty first day of March Eighteen hundred and fifty five before me the subscriber a justice of the peace for said county appears Jonathan Waters and acknowledes the foregoing or within instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and now before me personally appears also John Warfield of (Joshua) the within named grantee and makes oath in due form of Law that the consideration set forth in the within Bill of sale or instrument of writing is true and bona fide as therein set forth. In testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid J. G. Worthington Received on the foregoing Bill of Sale when presented for record one dollar in lieu of stamp under the act of 1846 ch 61 W. H. Lizear of Howard District of Anne Arundel county by his bill of sale duly executed and acknowledged on the thirteenth day of March eighteen hundred and fifty one did grant bargain and sell unto the said Catharine Lizear her heirs and assigns all and singular the slaves, stock, goods, chattels and personal effects particularly named mentioned and described in the said Bill of sale as by reference thereto which is duly "recorded in Liber E. P. H. N.o 2 folio 305 &c one of the chattel record books of Howard District of anne arundel county" will more fully and at large appear |
