Carroll of Howard county state of maryland of
the one part and John Esler of the county and
state above mentioned of the other part; whereas
the said John Esler by indenture of Bill of
sale bearing date the thirteenth day of August
eighteen hundred and fifty one duly executed
acknowledged and recorded among the
chattel records of Howard County court Liber E.
P. H. No. 2. folio 335 &c did for and in consideration
of the sum of two hundred and sixty one
dollars and ninety current money grant
bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm
unto the said Charles Carroll his heirs and
assigns all the following described property
to wit one grey horse named John one
bay Mare named Cate blind of an eye two cows
one wagon one cart one plough and one two
horse Harrow also all the wheat oats and corn
raised on the farm on which the said John
Esler resided on the day and at the time
the said Bill of sale was executed; in the
year one thousand eight hundred and fifty
one as by reference to the said Bill of sale
will more fully and at large appear.  And
whereas the said John Esler hath freely paid
and satisfied to him the said Charles Carroll
the above Mentioned sum of money he
the said Charles Carroll doth agree to execute
this instrument of writing as a full release
of the above described property  Now This
Indenture witnesseth that the said Charles
Carroll for and in consideration above mentioned
payments of the aforesaid sum of
money to him in hand by the said John
Esler at and before the sealing and delivery
of these presents the receipt of which is
hereby acknowledged hath given granted
bargained and sold released enfoeffed
and confirmed and by these presents doth
give grant bargain sell and release enfoeff
and confirm unto him the said
John Esler his heirs and assigns forever
the above mentioned and described goods
and chattels.  To Have and To Hold the
said herein described goods and chattels
