49 of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty four before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for Howard County aforesaid personally appears John Shorts he being known to me to be the person who is named and described as and professing to be party to the foregoing Bill of Sale or Indenture and doth acknowledge the said Indenture or Instrument of writing to be his act and deed. And at the same time and place also appeared Charles D. Warfield the grantee in the said Indenture or Bill of Sale named and made oath that the consideration set forth in the said Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth. In testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid Reuben Warfield Received to be recorded on the 21.st day of November 1854 same day recorded & examined per W. H. Worthington Clk
and to act and tranact bisness for himself. Witness my hand and seal Witness Richard Iglehart Sen. (Seal) Frederick F. White Received to be recorded on the 5.th day of September 1854 same day recorded & examined per W. H. Worthington Clk
of one hundred and thirty dollars current money to me in hand paid by Jesse N. Williams of Carroll County in the said State at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents |
