in Howard County do solemnly and
sincerely promise and swear, that
I will in all things to the best of my knowledge and
ability well and truly execute the trust reposed in
me as inspector of primary schools for the county
without favor or partiality

Whereas a certain Richard P.
Snowden late of Anne Arundel
County deceased in his life time
did by deed of Manumission
duly executed acknowledged and
                                 recorded among the land records of said County
                                 liberate and set free his negro girl Priscilla to take
                                 effect from and after the expiration of fourteen years from
                                 the first day of January Eighteen hundred and forty five
                                 when the said Priscilla would have attained the age
                                 of twenty years reserving to himself and his representatives
                                 in the mean time the use and services of the said
                                 Negro girl; and did also ^in the said deed^ fix and dertermine the
                                 state and condition of the issue which might be born
                                 of the said negro girl during her servitude.  And
                                 whereas the legal ownership as expression of the
                                 said negro girls is now in Anna Maria Hopkins as one
                                 of the heirs and legal representatives of the said Richard
                                 P. Snowden deceased.   Now know all men by these
                                 presents that the said Anna Maria Hopkins for
                                 and in consideration of the sum of eighty dollars to
                                 her in hand paid by Wilson McBee (now and for
                                 many years past a bona fide resident of the state
                                 of Maryland) hath bargained sold and transferred
                                 and by these presents doth bargain sell and transfer
                                 unto the said Wilson M.cBee his executors administrators
                                 and assigns all her the said Anna Maria
                                 Hopkins right and interest in and to the said negro
                                 girl for and during the period or term of servitude
