284 State of Maryland Howard County to Wit: I hereby certify that on this 24th day of February 1858 personally appeared John Elder before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for Howard County and acknowledged the aforegoing bill of sale to be his act and deed and also at the same appeared Joshua Knox and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the within Bill of Sale is true and bona fide I testimony whereof I hereby subscribe my name on the day and year first writen John Ridgely (of Jno) Justice of the peace for Howard County Received to be Recorded on the 16th day of march 1858 at 4 oclk P.M. one negro woman named Julia Ann aged about thirty years a slave for life Witness my hand and seal this first day of March Eighteen hundred and fifty eight Nicholas Lusby (seal) State of Maryland Howard County to wit: I hereby certify that on this first day of March 1858 personally appeared Nicholas Lusby of Howard County before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for Howard County Maryland and acknowledged the forgoin bill of Sale to be his act Test Saml H. Simmons State of Maryland Howard County on this 14th day of March 1858 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for said County personally appeared James P. Johnson and makes Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration in the above bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein Set forth Sworn before Saml F. Simmons Received to be recorded on the 16th day of March 1858 at 2½ O clk Pm. Same day Recorded & Examined per W W Watkins clk
