J. Howard Talbott they grantee in
the said indenture Named and Made
oath that the consideration set forth in
the said indenture or bill of sale is
true and bona fide as therein stated and
set forth               Jno. G. Worthington J. P.
Received on the aforegoing Instrument of
writing when presented for record one
dollar in lieu of stamp under the act of
1846 ch 61.           W. H. Worthington clk.
Received to be recorded on the 6.th day of
March 1856 same day recorded and

   Bill of sale to
James M.cGowan
 Know all men by these presents
That whereas heretofore
to wit on the nineteenth
day of March eighteen
hundred and fifty three James M.cGowan
of Howard county in the state
of Maryland by his bill of sale of that
date did grant bargain sell and convey
unto me John R. Brown of the county and
state aforesaid certain goods household
stuff implements and furniture particularly
mentioned expressed and
contained in the schedule thereunto
annexed for the sum of seven hundred
and sixty dollars lawful Money
as by reference to said Bill of sale and
schedule thereto annexed duly executed
acknowledged and recorded in
Liber E. P. H. No 2 folio 468 &c one of the chattel
record books of Howard county will
More fully and at large appear and whereas
the said sum of money hath been repaid
to the said John R. Brown.  Now I the
said John R. Brown by these presents for
and in consideration of the premises and
of the payment of one dollar to me in
hand paid by the said James M.cGowan
at or before the sealing and delivery of
these presents the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged have granted
