58 Sum of one hundred and One dollars & sixty six Cents Current money to me in hand paid By James E Douglass of Dorchester County and state of Maryland, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said James E. Douglass his heirs and assigns, the following property to wit; One grey horse about twelve years old, one Bay horse about nine years old, being the same horse that formerly belonging to george W. Wingate, One sulky and harness To Have and To Hold the said above described property as above bargained and sold unto the said James E. Douglass his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, against me the said Samuel T. Wilkinson my heirs, executors and administrators, and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend. In testimony whereof, I Samuel T. Wilkinson have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this 22.d day of June eighteen hundred and fifty three Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Samuel T. Wilkinson (seal) Charles Corkran Maryland, Dorchester County, to wit: On the 22d day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three personally appeared before me, a Justice of the peace in and for said County, the within named Samuel T. Wilkinson and acknowledged the within bill of sale to be his act and deed according to the purport, true intent and meaning of the same, and at the same time Came before me James E. Douglass within mentioned, and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty god, that the Consideration set forth in this bill of sale, is true and bona fide, as therein set forth, according to the Act of Assembly made and provided. Acknowledged & Sworn to before Charles Corkran Levin Christopher Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following √ to xd Bill of sale was received and recorded on the 27th day of June 1853 to wit Amelia S. Vincent This Indenture made this Twenty first day of June in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and Fifty three between Levin Christopher of Dorchester and state of maryland of the one part, and Amelia S. Vincent of Dorchester County and state aforesaid of the other part. Now this Indenture witnesseth, that the said Levin Christopher for and in Consideration of the premises, and for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars Current money to him in hand paid by the said Amelia S. Vincent at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof the said Levin Christopher doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefrom doth acquit, release, exonerate and forever discharge, the said Amelia S. Vincent her heirs, executors and administrators, and every of them by these presents, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell, unto Amelia S. Vincent her executors, administrators and assigns, all and singular the Horses Cattle, hogs Household & Kitchen furniture hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed; (that is to say) one spotted mare, called Molbrow, one brown mare Fanny, two brindle Cows and one Calf, five head of hogs, four beds three steads & furniture one bureau, half doz Cain bottom chairs one cupboard and safe, all the balance of Household and Kitchen furniture on the premises where the said Levin Christopher now resides (To Have and To Hold all and singular the said Horses, Cattle, hogs, Household & Kitchen furniture herein before granted, bargained and sold, or mentioned or intended so to be, unto the said Amelia S. Vincent her executors administrators and assigns, to the only proper use and behoof of the said Amelia S. Vincent her executors, administrators |
