36 William H. Jordan Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of sale from xd was received and recorded on the 13th day of January 1853 to wit Aaron Pinder Know all men by these presents that I Aaron Pinder free coloured man of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and ninety six dollars Current money to me in hand paid by William H. Jordan of the County and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, I the said Aaron Pinder have bargained and sold, Conveyed and transferred, and by these presents do bargain and sell Convey and transfer unto the said William H. Jordan his heirs and assigns, the following goods and Chattels to wit: One hundred barrels of Corn, five thousand pounds of blade fodder, one wagon and harness, fifteen dung hill fowls, three geese, one horse, one carriage and harness, one bridle and saddle, one Cow, one yearling, one sow one large hog, six shotes, one feather bed, one straw bed, one Cupboard, one clock, one water stand, one walnut table, one pine table, one dozen chairs, one loom and wheel, one oven, one spider, two iron pots, one bucket, one carpet, one milk house, one yoke of Steers, four plows, one Double plow two fluke harrows, one seed harrow, forty bushels of oaths, the crop of wheat seeded on the farm when I now reside, and all the residue of my goods and chattels and personal estate of every kind and description whatsoever, now being on the premises where I now reside To Have and To Hold the said above described goods and chattels and personal estate unto the said William H. Jordan his heirs and assigns, to his and their sole use and uses forever, and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Aaron Pinder has hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his Seal this 12h day of January 1853 his Signed sealed and delivered Aaron x Pinder (seal) In presence of mark E. R. Hooper Charles Corkran State of Maryland Dorchester County ss: Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this 12th day of Jany 1853 personally appeared Aaron Pinder before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County and state aforesaid, and acknowledged the aforegoing bill of sale or instrument of writing to be his act and deed, and delivered the same for the purposes therein mentioned according to the acts of assembly in Such Cases made and provided. Also on the same day and year aforesaid personally appeared before me William H. Jordan party vender to the aforegoing bill of sale and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration mentioned in the aforegoing bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein specified. Acknowledged & sworn before Charles Corkran 1853 January 13th Received of William H. Jordan the sum of one Dollar in lieu of a stamp on this Bill of Sale Francis J. Henry Clerk William W. Crawford Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following √ from xd Mortgage Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 17th day Hugh Maguire of January 1853 to wit: This Indenture, made this eight day of January in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty three between Hugh Maguire of Dorchester County and State of maryland of the one part and William W. Crawford of Dorchester County and State aforesaid of the other part whereas the said Hugh Maguire owes and stands Justly indebted to the said William W. Crawford on note of hand in the Sum of One Hundred |
