CHAPTER 525
(House Bill 966)

AN ACT concerning

Task Force to Study the Dynamics of Elderly and Retiree Migration Into and

Out of Maryland

FOR the purpose of establishing a Task Force to Study the Dynamics of Elderly and
Retiree Migration Into and Out of Maryland; establishing the membership of the
Task Force; requiring the Governor to attempt to ensure regional, ethnic,
economic, and gender diversity on the Task Force; providing staff support for the
Task Force; prohibiting a member of the Task Force from receiving certain
compensation; authorizing a member of the Task Force to be reimbursed for
certain expenses; requiring the Task Force to oversee and assist in preparing a
certain study; requiring the study of the Task Force to contain a certain review,
a certain assessment, and certain examinations; requiring the members of the
Task Force to be appointed by a certain date; requiring the Task Force to issue
a report of the study's findings and recommendations by a certain date;
providing for the termination of the Task Force; and generally relating to the
Task Force to Study the Dynamics of Elderly and Retiree Migration Into and
Out of Maryland.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That:

(a)     There is a Task Force to Study the Dynamics of Elderly and Retiree
Migration Into and Out of Maryland.

(b)     The Task Force shall be composed of 16 17 18 members as follows:

(1)     one member of the Senate of Maryland, appointed by the President of
the Senate;

(2)     one member of the House of Delegates, appointed by the Speaker of
the House;

(3)     the Secretary of Aging, or the Secretary's designee;

(4)     the Secretary of Business and Economic Development, or the
Secretary's designee;

(5)     the Secretary of Planning, or the Secretary's designee;

(6)     the Executive Director of the Forvm for Rural Maryland Council, or
the Executive Director's designee;

(7)     one representative from the Maryland Association of Counties,
appointed by the Governor;

(8)     one representative from a Maryland chapter of the National
Association of Retired Federal Employees, appointed by the Governor;
