(8) COORDINATE STATE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO ADDRESS THE
ISSUE OF OSTEOPOROSIS
; (9) PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF SUPPORT GROUPS FOR
OSTEOPOROSIS PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND CAREGIVERS; AND (10) PROVIDE LASTING IMPROVEMENTS IN THE DELIVERY OF
OSTEOPOROSIS HEALTH CARE, AND THEREBY PROVIDE PATIENTS WITH AN
IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE
AND SOCIETY WITH THE CONTAINMENT OF HEALTH
CARE COSTS.
13-1603. THE DEPARTMENT SHALL ESTABLISH, PROMOTE, AND MAINTAIN AN
OSTEOPOROSIS PREVENTION AND EDUCATION PROGRAM TO PROMOTE PUBLIC
AWARENESS OF THE CAUSES OF OSTEOPORO
SIS, OPTIONS FOR PREVENTION, AND
THE
VALUE OF EARLY DETECTION AND POSSIBLE TREATMENTS, INCLUDING THE
BENEFITS AND RISKS OF THO
SE TREATMENTS. 13-1604. (A) THERE IS AN OSTEOPOROSIS PREVENTION AND EDUCATION TASK FORCE
IN THE DEPARTMENT. (B) THE TASK FORCE CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING 16 MEMBERS: (1) THE DEPARTMENT'S OSTEOPOROSIS COORDINATOR: AND (2) THE FOLLOWING 15 MEMBERS, APPOINTED BY THE SECRETARY
GOVERNOR: (I) ONE MEMBER REPRESENTING A REPRESENTATIVE OF A
WOMEN'S HEALTH ORGANIZATION; (II) NINE HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS REPRESENTING THE
FOLLOWING PROFESSIONS:
1. RADIOLOGY;
2. ORTHOPEDICS;
3. NURSING;
4. PHYSICAL THERAPY;
5. RHEUMATOLOGY;
6. NUTRITION;
7. SOCIAL WORK;
8. GERIATRICS; AND
9. PHARMACY;
(III) TWO INDIVIDUALS WITH OSTEOPOROSIS;
